Audiology - Aai Women’s Hospital

At Aai Women’s Hospital, our specialized Pediatric Audiology Department is committed to the early detection, diagnosis, and management of hearing and balance disorders in children—from newborns to adolescents. Recognizing the crucial role of hearing in a child’s speech, language, cognitive, and emotional development, our audiology team provides comprehensive and compassionate care tailored to every child’s needs.

Our department offers a full spectrum of advanced diagnostic evaluations, including newborn hearing screenings, pure-tone audiometry, auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing, otoacoustic emissions (OAE), and tympanometry. These tests help in assessing the type and severity of hearing loss or vestibular (balance) dysfunction, enabling timely and accurate diagnosis. The multidisciplinary team of audiologists, in close collaboration with pediatricians, otolaryngologists (ENT specialists), speech therapists, and other pediatric professionals, designs personalized treatment plans. These may involve the use of hearing aids, cochlear implants, bone-anchored hearing devices, or auditory-verbal therapy depending on the child’s condition. For children with balance concerns, therapeutic strategies and coordination exercises are recommended to support physical development
